A past client whom we had built a flat roof for called us to do some repair and maintenance work. It had been about five years since he had used our services as a commercial roofing contractor in Allen. Thanks to the quality of our initial work, the repair and maintenance (part of the normal wear and tear of the building) was straightforward and allowed us to come under budget.
The crew arrived at the site and the minor repairs that needed to be done included repairing small blisters and cracks. The crew were first going to repair the cracks. They cleaned the area where the cracks were located by removing all gravel and debris. The crack area was coated with asphalt cement, then roofing felt was laid over the crack. Once the crack was filled, the crew applied gravel onto the patch. The crew began repairing the small blisters by first releasing any air in the blister. This is achieved by making a small cut in the affected are. The area was patched, then gravel was laid on top to keep the blisters from occurring again (and to prevent any leaks in the flat roof). It took the crew several days to get all the roofing repairs completed for the client, but the weather was great, which made the repair process go smoothly.
Once the crew was finished they let the client know that the repairs and maintenance work were completed, and they reassured the client that the flat roof was in great shape and that he shouldn’t have any problems at all. We also let him know that if had any problems at all to just give us a call and we would return promptly to correct any problems that might arise.
The client thanked the crew again for doing a great job. He told us that he was worried that he may need to have a new roof applied soon, but was thankful to know that just routine maintenance and repairs were required. We did let the client know that we should really come check out the roof twice a year, spring and fall just so we could catch any problems before it turned out to be a major problem and a costly problem. He said he appreciated our honesty and as always our hard work and dedication that we always provide for him.
